High Velocity Burner (HV) The HV burner is a robust and extremly stable burner with high excess air capability which can deliver combustion gas velocities in excess of 150 m/s. This results in rapid and uniform heat circulation inside a furnace as well as improved and controlled heat transfer to the load. These features make the HV Burner ideal for applications such as heat-treatment, where the load has to be heated in a controlled manner to comply with stringent quality assurance standards like Rolls Royce RPS953. Other applications include small ladle heaters or small reheating, forging and heat treatment furnaces where high velocity cannot be used. The Minijet is also used in low temperature applications such as process drying or heating as well as ovens where they can be used in conjunction with recirculating fans. Typically these are kilns where the flame cannot be allowed to impinge on the ware, or large reheating furnaces, where they are installed in the roof to ensure good temperature uniformity by providing additional heat in the middle of the furnace. FFB Burners are also used for reheating glass sheets prior to bending. With typical air preheats in excess of 1/3 of the furnace operating temperature, the Hotwork Recuperative Burner has the ability to recover part of this energy by exhausting hot waste gases through its specially designed quarl and over an integral metallic heat exchanger which, in turn, preheats incoming combustion air. This heat recovery significantly reduces the amount of fuel required for the process and makes the HRB Burner ideal for applications where flue gas temperatures are high and load residence time at high temperature is long, such as forging and heat-treatment furnaces or batch-type furnaces. Self-Recuperative Radiant Tube (RT) The Hotwork Combustion Technology single-ended radiant tube incorporates a self-recuperative burner which has been designed for delayed mixing and progressive combustion to produce a highly radiant diffusion flame. This ensures uniform and high heat transfer to the outer surface of the tube and as a consequence even temperature distribution inside the furnace. The products of combustion exhaust through the integral heat exchanger which in turn preheats incoming combustion air, thus achieving high fuel efficiencies of up to 70%. The process of heat recovery reduces the amount of fuel required by as much as 35%. They also provide a cost-effective solution to open-ended cold air radiant tubes since the heat is distributed more evenly inside the tube, resulting in prolonged tube life, improved temperature uniformity inside the furnace and better fuel efficiency.
